Egypt's Revolution: 2011
Two years ago Egypt formed a rebellion against their president Hosni Mubarak. They grew tired of no free elections, high food prices and low wages and decided to get him out of office. They wanted someone who would give them better treatment and fair laws. This desire lead to many protest and mobs. These protest lead to the resigning of Hosni Mubarak. Before resigning he gave leadership to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF).He also appointed Chief of the Egyptian Air Force Ahmed Shafik to start a new government.
Under the leadership of SCAF the laws were the same. The same wages and food prices remained. The people wanted SCAF from under control as well. Before their efforts to make this reality took place however, a new president was appointed and SCAF was no longer in control.
In "Animal Farm" the animals wanted Mr. Jones from being ruler too. They protested and eventually got him out of the farm just like the Egyptians did Hosni Mubarak. Also, in "Animal Farm" the new leaders that took over (the pigs) were just the same. They live in the same harsh conditions and suffered through the same problems they had in Jones day. The Egyptians were afflicted with this same problem under the rule of SCAF. Unfortunately unlike the Egyptians the animals weren't released of the cruel and hard treatment.
